Our Mission, Our Values
“God’s activity is already going on in the people we come in contact with. It is not for us to imagine that we alone bring God to others. It is for us, together with the “other,” to discern that activity, name it and appropriate it in ways that have a ring of authenticity in our lives together . . . In practice, this takes a great load off a person in such a ministry. In my experience thus far here, God has been working most powerfully when I have felt most powerless, acutely aware of my and our limits. It is a joy to see that, as a worshipping community, we are becoming more at ease with, and discerning of, the kind of God who is at ease with us in our limits. At every turn, I and the faith community face our limitedness. And yet there is a sense of the presence of the reign of God coming among us as we share the times that we learn to let go of impossible expectations, and accept to be God’s beloved, jut as we are, together, now.”
